As the new multi-storey car park is now open, our Park and Ride (P&R) service from Eureka and Cedar Court will come to an end after this coming Friday, 30th October.

Our seven Park and Ride drivers (some of who are pictured) have made a significant difference to the experience of colleagues. The stats speak for themselves with more than 175,000 colleagues taking a journey on either the shuttle bus and park and ride since the service started. From Eureka P&R, 26,000 seats have been taken on all trips, and more than 19,000 trips have been taken to and from Cedar Court.

Senior Facilities Manager for Transport and Equipment, Andy Mould, said: "Looking back over the last couple of years running the Park and Ride, I want to thank everyone for their support, feedback and patience. Most of all I want to thank the drivers for their contributions in making the Park and Ride an overall success. The last two years have seen them overcome significant challenges, be it significant road works on not just the A629 corridor but also wider afield, weather disruptions and of course knock on issues from the dreaded motorway! As a manager, I can only design the services, it's the drivers and the team that ultimately make it happen. So a huge thanks from me to them."

Head of Facilities, Claire Bushby-Muffit, said: "I have personally seen the kindness and compassion shown by our drivers to those using the service. Whether it is making sure passengers are safe and have reached their cars before driving away or calmly navigating the seemingly endless challenges of traffic and roadworks while completing the same route multiple times day after day. Their care and professionalism are clear to see.

"This service has, I hope, made a real difference to colleagues during a difficult time, when simply getting to and from work can already be stressful. I would like to personally thank the whole team for their hard work, patience, and commitment, and for demonstrating one culture of care to many passengers every day."

It won't be the last you will be seeing of our fantastic drivers, as they will be supporting other areas of transport in the Trust, such as transporting urgent Microbiology samples to the new Centre for Laboratory Medicine in Leeds.

A huge thank you to our colleagues for using the service over the past two years, and thank you also to our drivers.
