Well done to our Elective Surgery Unit (ESU) at HRI who have been successfully re-accredited by Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) three years after being a pilot site for the Hub accreditation process. GIRFT is a national NHS England programme designed to improve the treatment and care of patients through in-depth review of services, benchmarking, and presenting a data-driven evidence base to support change.

Clinical Operations Manager, Emma Mooney, said: "This validates all the hard work of the clinical and operational teams who work together to ensure the unit meets high standards in patient care. There have been improvements in both utilisation and day case rates at the hub since initial accreditation which is a fantastic achievement.

"The team were described as well-led with a strong improvement culture and dedication to delivering the best service for our patients - amazing recognition of all the hard work the entire team across pre-op, scheduling, admission, theatres and discharge put into doing the best we can for the patients in our care."
