The section of Godfrey Road between the Women’s and Children’s Car Park entrance and the A&E Car Park entrance at Calderdale Royal Hospital (CRH) will be closed from Monday, 26th October to Friday, 6th November.
Emergency services coming to the A&E department at CRH should come via Skircoat Green Road and then down Godfrey Road.
If vehicles need to come to the Women and Children’s entrance, they will need to come via Dudwell Lane and up Godfrey Road.
Traffic management will be in place. However, there will be no through route between the Women’s and Children’s Car Park entrance and the A&E Car Park entrance. Resident access will be maintained.
Communications have been shared with residents and emergency services.
Please note that the A&E car park is now for patient drop-offs (including maternity) and emergency services only.
This closure is an essential part of the work to get CRH ready for construction of our new hospital. The work is a drainage connection which needs to be completed on Godfrey Road. Due to the size and depth of the excavation we need to close a short section of Godfrey Road to allow this work to happen safely.
Working hours will continue to be Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm. We aim to keep noise to a minimum but please be aware that there may be some unavoidable short periods of noise disturbance from breaking through the tarmac, however this will be kept to working hours.
A map showing where the work is happening and the diversion routes is attached.
Thank you for your support.
