From today, Monday, 19th October, our contractor for the new hospital building at CRH, Laing O’Rourke, will be starting to set up their site cabins which will be in the CRH A&E car park. You can see what the cabins will look like in the artist impression attached.
The site cabins will be a self-contained welfare facility for our contractors who are working on the new hospital build. It will contain office facilities, welfare and rest areas, and catering for the Laing O’Rourke workforce. The cabins are essential in ensuring that contractors have a specific area on the site to gather, avoiding potential disruption in other areas such as in the A&E car park, and elsewhere on the hospital site.
The height of the cabins is 12 metres, so is expected to be just below the height of CRH.
The first two floors will be built from week commencing Monday, 19th October with the top two floors to be built in the middle of November. The internal fit out of the cabins will continue until the start of December from which point it will be occupied.
Please note that the A&E car park is now for drop offs only, which includes maternity. Contractors will only be able to park within the hoarding and should not be parked in the A&E car park, ambulance bays or drop off spaces.
Thank you for your continued understanding as we get CRH ready for construction of our new hospital building.
