Colleagues in the Medical Division are reaping the benefits of using Dragon Medical One voice recognition software, with many seeing improvements in the way they work.
Dragon enables clinicians to dictate and complete clinic letters promptly, capturing their findings and clinical decisions at the point of care, while helping patients and GPs receive important patient information sooner. It can also reduce administrative typing and calls chasing outstanding letters, freeing up time for other important activities, including patient pathway management.
Stroke Consultant, Dr Naomi Johnson, said: “I have a hand injury and using this software has really increased the speed I am able to do things. However, it is the individualised support that you have given that has really made the difference and is appreciated.”
Fellow Stroke Consultant, Dr Fathima Razik, added: “I was reluctant and anxious to start Dragon. But the one-to-one support made things very easy and as Naomi mentioned the individual support you gave was very helpful. Clinic letters are completed much sooner now, within a day or two compared to before it was weeks to months.”
A&E Operations Manager CRH, Dennie Sebastian, said: “The division continues to support colleagues to embed Dragon into everyday working, helping to improve the timeliness of clinical correspondence while reducing administrative pressures.
“This has been a real team effort. It’s been fantastic to see engagement with Dragon grow and the administrative burden reduce. I’d particularly like to recognise THIS Training team for their ongoing training support, and Tomas Paulovic and Benjamin Kaye, our dedicated Dragon superusers, whose personalised one-to-one support has been key to building clinicians’ confidence and maintaining momentum within the Medical Division.”
