Our Stroke Unit at CHFT have had some very special guests joining them in the department for the past few weeks. Holme Valley Orchestra have been visiting the area to play for our patients and colleagues.
A recent patient on the Stroke Unit plays with Holme Valley Orchestra and the group wanted to visit to play for him. They stay for around an hour and play a mixture of songs, from classical to the Monty Python theme tune.
Ward Manager, Rebecca Sykes, said: "They have played twice for us and the music has been really uplifting for the patients, relatives and colleagues. Music is good for our stroke patients, and our Speech and Therapy Team hold a singing group once a week on the ward. The patients have found the visit from Holme Valley Orchestra absolutely wonderful."
