Our Clinical Education Team are keen to hear if your ward or department can offer a clinical placement to our student nurses.
Student Nurse, Tamzin Crabtree, has shared her experience of her recent placement with the Clinical Education Team.
"I really enjoyed my placement and found it to be a very valuable and enjoyable experience. I particularly enjoyed being taken on visits to meet staff members and other students. This gave me the opportunity to learn more about different roles within the Trust, hear about peoples' experiences, and gain a better understanding of the Trust and our colleagues.
"The clinical education sessions run by the team were also helpful and interesting. I learned a lot from these sessions and appreciated the opportunity to develop my knowledge outside of my usual placement activities.
"Everyone in the team was very friendly, welcoming and supportive, which made me feel comfortable throughout my placement. I also really enjoyed being given project work to complete, as it allowed me to work more independently and apply what I had learned in a practical way.
"Overall, I really enjoyed my time with the Clinical Education Team and am grateful for the opportunities and experiences they gave me. The placement helped me learn more about the Trust, develop my knowledge and skills, and gain a better understanding of the different people and roles within the organisation."
Clinical Educator, Gary Miles said: "During her placement with us, Tamzin developed a presentation that has since been embedded into our student induction programme, creating a resource that continues to support future students.
"By supporting our student nurses, you help them to build confidence, develop clinical skills and grow into future healthcare professionals."
