Kidney Research UK is calling for funding applications to its Translation Accelerator Kidney Award Scheme, to help support renal teams working on discrete, patient and clinic focussed research projects across two workstreams:
- Therapeutics: An intervention intended to prevent, treat, cure, or modify the course of kidney disease through a direct biological, pharmacological, or physiological effect.
- MedTech: Technologies, devices or tools intended to be used for the diagnosis, monitoring, prevention of, or delivery of care for, kidney disease, and which do not achieve their primary intended action by pharmacological, immunological or metabolic means.
Awards are made across two funding levels for a maximum duration of 15 months:
- Level 1 awards will provide up to £79,999
- Level 2 awards will provide between £80,000 and £125,000
Applications are welcome from researchers in UK-based higher education institutions, NHS clinicians and clinical researchers, and allied healthcare professionals. Collaborative approaches and team approaches are encouraged.
