There will be some sore legs across the Community Division this morning after colleagues completed their 24-hour Therapy Dash at 9am on Saturday, raising more than £2,000 for CHFT Charity.

Joined by colleagues from across the Trust, and special guest comedian Alex Brooker, participants worked tirelessly to keep a bike, treadmill and rowing machine moving continuously for 24 hours - covering an incredible 1,017,356 metres!

The event aimed to raise awareness of the importance of physical activity and the benefits of movement for long-term health. It also provided an opportunity to bring therapy teams together, celebrate the incredible work they do every day, and highlight the positive impact therapy services have on people's lives.

The challenge formed part of a coordinated regional event involving NHS trusts from across West Yorkshire. Originally founded by Lisa Capewell at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2025, the initiative has grown into an annual celebration of therapy services, promoting the importance of movement and showcasing the positive impact of therapy teams across the region.

Head of Charity and Volunteer Services, Emma Kovaleski, said: “It was absolutely amazing. The camaraderie and engagement from across CHFT was just incredible!”

Donations are still being accepted via the JustGiving page (24 Hour Therapy Dash - JustGiving). Congratulations and well done to everyone who took part in, supported and helped make this fantastic event such a success.
