As part of the NHS75 celebrations, the NHS and parkrun have teamed up and are welcoming people to the parkrun events happening locally on Saturday, 8th July at 9am. With junior parkrun events on Sunday, 9th July at 9am.
The event is not only to mark the NHS’s 75th anniversary, but also to promote everyone towards a more healthy, active lifestyle. Anybody can attend, NHS staff, volunteers and their families. Even better if you’re in fancy dress or NHS blue. So, dust off those running shoes and maybe even that little blue tutu, it’s time to run, jog, walk or dance to celebrate the NHS.
It's free to take part, you just need to register here beforehand. There are local events taking place at Wellholme Park in Brighouse, Shroggs Park in Halifax and Centre Vale Park in Todmorden.
Volunteers are also being encouraged to help out on the day and you can sign up here. If you are volunteering it is advisable to attend a bit earlier than the 9am starting time. Remember to use #NHS75 to show us what you're up to on the day.
