Specialist Nurse, Jonathan Wood, has completed his first Ironman challenge to raise money for multiple sclerosis (MS) research.

Jonathan decided he wanted to raise money in aid of MS Society after his child, Ry, was diagnosed with relapsing-remitting MS.

Having already competed in sprint and Olympic distance triathlons, Jonathan turned his attention to a new challenge - a 70.3 Ironman triathlon. During a weekend away with an experienced triathlon friend, one drink led to another, and Jonathan found himself signing up to the race in Aix-En-Provence, South of France. He trained for nine months and was able to finish the race, raising £560 through his fundraising page.

Commenting on their dad's achievement, Ry said: "I am incredibly proud. To finish in just over six-and-a-half hours - it's amazing!"

Not satisfied with having just one Ironman challenge under his belt, this super dad also completed his second Ironman at the weekend, this time in Chester. A huge well done on both your achievements.
