As part of the international nurse induction programme, our new recruits get to tour some of our beautiful local landmarks, such as the historic Piece Hall, pictured here.
It was a happy coincidence that this cohort were shown the sights during ‘Stay and Thrive’ week – a national initiative to aid recruitment, find out what matters to nurses and create a strong sense of belonging. We hope that all the nurses felt this way as they toured the beautiful local landscape.
Rosie Bevan, from our Clinical Education Team, said it was important for our new colleagues to settle into the community as well as into work.
She said: “As part of their settling-in process, we supply a tour of their new surroundings and all there is on offer locally. We also show what different cuisines are available and we spend time getting to know each other.
“The nurses really enjoyed this day out and we have had very positive feedback.”
