Recently we shared our latest Star Award winners, Hayley and Tracy. This week we're shining a light on another nomination which was submitted.

Senior Information Analyst, Amanda Furness, was nominated for her fantastic work behind the scenes.

Her nomination reads: "Amanda is an exceptional colleague who consistently goes above and beyond behind the scenes to improve how we understand, report and use data across our services. Through her expertise, determination and innovative thinking, she has transformed complex data collection and reporting processes. She is frequently asked to solve challenges that others have been unable to overcome because they involve bringing together information from different systems, providers and organisations. Rather than accepting limitations, Amanda invests significant time and thought in developing creative solutions and workable processes that deliver meaningful results.

"A recent example is her work to improve reporting on clinical outcome measures within Children's Therapies. When colleagues described the type of information they needed to understand outcomes better, Amanda did far more than simply build a report. She carefully considered how data should be captured, analysed and presented to tell an accurate and meaningful story. This has created a much stronger foundation for understanding outcomes and supporting service improvement.

"Amanda has also delivered a solution that schools have been requesting for many years. For a long time, teams have struggled to provide schools with accurate information about which children on therapy caseloads attend their setting. This required extensive manual scrutiny of caseloads and often produced inconsistent results.  Not only has Amanda created a sustainable solution to a longstanding challenge, but she has volunteered to run these reports three times a year, saving substantial staff time and strengthening partnership working with schools.

"Another significant piece of work has been Amanda's support in responding to Calderdale ICB's request for a detailed performance dashboard. The dashboard requires extensive analysis across a range of metrics. This is a highly complex and time-consuming process, yet Amanda has worked tirelessly to develop a method that allows this information to be produced quarterly in a robust and efficient way. Her contribution has ensured that the service can provide high-quality intelligence to commissioners and demonstrate the reach and impact of its work.

"Amanda is highly respected by colleagues for her expertise, patience and willingness to help. She may work quietly behind the scenes, but the positive impact of her contributions is enormous. Her dedication, innovation and commitment to improving services make her an outstanding example of One Culture of Care."
