Therapy colleagues from across our Community Division are gearing up to take part in a 24-hr Therapy Dash to raise awareness of the importance of physical activity and the benefits of movement for long-term health.
Following a successful launch event in Bradford last year, they’ll take part in a coordinated regional event covering a 24-hour period, starting at 09:00 on Friday, 18th September and finishing at 09:00 on Saturday, 19th September. The aim is to raise awareness of the importance of physical activity and the benefits of movement for long term health, as well as raising funds for CHFT Charity.
The challenge involves keeping a bike, treadmill and rowing machine moving continuously for 24 hours.
Associate Director of Therapies, Christine Beck, said: "The event was started last year by our Bradford therapy colleagues, and this year we're proud to be supporting them as it grows into a West Yorkshire-wide event, with the hope that one day it could become a national challenge.
“Whether it's walking, cycling, gardening, swimming, or any other type of activity, moving more is great for both our physical and emotional wellbeing. The 24-hr Therapy Dash is all about encouraging everyone to get active in a way that works for them.
"It's also a fantastic opportunity to bring therapy teams together, celebrate the incredible work they do every day, and showcase the positive impact therapies have on people's lives. On top of that, we're raising much-needed funds for the CHFT Charity"
If you’d like to support this event with a donation, it would be greatly appreciated.
