New essential safety training for End of Life Care (EOLC) is now live on ESR. Each module has our overarching EOLC themes but also specific learning for the area in which you work.

This learning has been developed collaboratively by colleagues across our hospital, community, and Children and Young People (CYP) teams. Thank you to all those who have contributed. A special mention to Digital eLearning Developer Lead, Andrew Nichols, who was key to developing this new training and also to Workforce Business Intelligence Office, Debbie Rees, for all her expertise.

To complete this training, you need to complete the certification - 372 CHFT End of Life Care - 3 Year training July 2026

With the new certification, please enrol on the module which you think best suits your clinical role. Some non-medical prescribers may find it helpful to also complete the ‘Medical Staff’ module as this contains more information about the use of medication at the end of life.

• 372 CHFT End of Life Care - Acute staff module (for adult clinical staff in the hospital setting (not including medical staff))
• 372 CHFT End of Life Care - Community staff module (for clinical staff working in the community setting)
• 372 CHFT End of Life Care - Medical staff module (for medical staff and/or non-medical prescribers – see above)
• 372 CHFT End of Life Care - Children’s and Young people staff module (clinical staff who care for children and young people)
