We have recently been informed by the manufacturer that the NGPOD® nasogastric pH testing device is no longer being manufactured and has been suspended from NHS Supply Chain.

As a result, we are withdrawing all NGPOD® PODS and sensors from clinical areas from today, Monday 3 August 2026. This decision has been taken as we no longer have assurance regarding device maintenance, repairs, replacement parts, or ongoing support from the manufacturer.

We ask that ward and departmental teams ensure that all NGPOD® equipment is identified and made available for collection from clinical areas from this date by the Nutrition Nursing Team.

Ongoing care and position verification of nasogastric tubes should only be performed by staff who have completed CHFT NGT training, with competency renewal required every three years.
