The current waiting time for the Arrhythmia Clinic is approximately 15 weeks.

Before submitting a referral, please ensure that the patient meets the referral criteria for the Arrhythmia Clinic:

• Symptomatic atrial arrhythmia, or
• Persistent inadequate rate control of asymptomatic atrial arrhythmia, with a heart rate consistently above 100 bpm.

If the patient does not meet either of the above criteria, please refer them to General Cardiology.

In addition, please ensure that rate-control therapy and a direct oral anticoagulant (DOAC) (where clinically indicated) have been initiated prior to referral. Please also ask the patient's GP to continue these medications until the patient is reviewed in the Arrhythmia Clinic.
