The free event is hosted by the Academic Centre for Surgery (ACeS) at University Hospitals Tees and takes place on Wednesday, 30th September 2026. It is open for any NHS colleague who is interested in research or academic careers.

In addition to informative talks by experts in the morning, the two workshops in the afternoon will focus on 'developing your research' and 'grant writing.' These will be led by experts from NIHR Research Support Service (RSS) and a Clinical Trials Unit. These sessions are designed to cover essential skills needed to write and pitch competitive applications for personal career awards and research grants.

The event will be hosted in the STRIVE building at The James Cook University Hospital. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

Places are limited, you can book your place on the website or click 'book now' in the flyer.
