Our CVAD (Central Venous Access Device) team offer a seven-day service to support ward staff with training, support and trouble shooting.

They also oversee the care and maintenance of CVAD lines throughout the Trust (excluding Critical Care, Oncology/Haematology and Paediatrics).

In addition to offering a seven-day service, the team now offer a five-day PICC (peripheral intravenous central catheter) insertion service.

• The team offer this service at HRI every Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 08:00 and 16:00
• They offer the service at CRH on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 08:00 and 16:00.

CVAD ESR Training

A reminder that the online CVAD ESR training should be used to enable colleagues to be CVAD Trained, in addition to arranging any training with the CVAD Team. 

The team are looking to offer a monthly group training session to capture as many colleagues as possible. Their first sessions are at CRH on Friday, 7th August and at HRI on Tuesday, 22nd September. 

Each session will last around two hours, and there will be a number of sessions on each day.
