On Saturday, 16th July, five dedicated CHFT colleagues took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks - one of Yorkshire's most iconic challenges. Together they raised £1,660 for CHFT Charity.
CT1, Donya Zidan, Advanced Practitioner, Michaela Nyanga, Biomedical Scientist, Sarah Theaker, ESU Staff Nurse, Sarah Ainley and Practise Learning Facilitator, Yvonne Hardcastle, laced up their walking boots. The demanding 25-mile circular route, takes in the three famous peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.
All the money raised will be used to support CHFT Charity in funding projects and initiatives for our patients, which goes beyond NHS provision for patients, families and colleagues.
Sarah Theaker told us: “I’m a Yorkshire lass who loves a challenge! I’ve completed the CHFT Charity Big Walk, jumped out of a plane, and walked over hot coals, but this has been my biggest physical achievement so far. Completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks was the perfect way to celebrate passing my Specialist Diploma, represent my workplace, and give back to an amazing charity.”
Michaela, shared: “After losing my mum unexpectedly and my daughter becoming unwell shortly afterwards and being fast tracked, I needed something to distract me and the email about the fundraising events landed in my inbox at the opportune moment!”
