As we get closer to opening the new Multi-Storey Car Park (MSCP) at CRH in early autumn 2026, we are inviting colleagues to submit their applications for a parking permit ahead of the opening.
Do you want to apply for a new permit, or add the CRH site to your permit?
If you are already registered on our Nexus Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system, please log into your account and choose all sites. The car parking team will get a notification of your request via Nexus.
If you are new to using Nexus, there are two steps to applying:
- Register for a Nexus account from the Car parking permits and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) intranet page - this page has user guides and information
- Apply for a permit (you must do this as registering alone will not set you up on the system)

Important reminders
Colleagues who paused their permit
If you paused your CRH parking permit while we were building the car park, you must re-activate your permit to be able to park in the new multi-storey. Please look out for the email reminders from reset.parking@cht.nhs.uk which will be sent weekly for the rest of July. We ask that colleagues reply as soon as they can, ideally by the end of July.
Colleagues who have a cross-site permit for both CRH and HRI
You do not need to do anything yet. Further information will be shared in the coming weeks.
Colleagues who work night shifts only at CRH
Colleagues who only work night shifts at CRH must also apply for a permit. This is because Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) will be in use across the site when the car park opens, and cameras will cover all areas 24/7. If you are not registered on our Nexus ANPR system, which is already in use in our Huddersfield car parks, you may receive a fine for parking.
Parking will continue to be free of charge if you only work nights. See our Car parking permits and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) intranet page for guidance on registering and applying.
Information for Priority Parking Permit holders
If you have a Priority Parking Permit, you do not need to do anything yet. Parking for colleagues with a Priority Parking Permit will still be located off Dudwell Lane and will also be covered by ANPR. These spaces are clearly line marked in red. Please note there are no Priority Parking spaces within the new car park.
Information regarding On Call Permits
Once the new multi-storey opens, there will be no On Call Permits. This follows the process before we started building the car park and is the same at HRI.
If you currently have an On Call Permit and did not pause your permit, please apply for a new permit from the Car parking permits and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) intranet page.
Additional information
There are no changes to the cost of a permit. You can find a list of the permit charges on the intranet page.

Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR)
When the new car park opens, ANPR will be in use across the CRH site – for colleagues, patients and visitors. Your number plate will be registered when you arrive, so it is important that people park on the designated floor.
Changes to the Park and Ride service
Thank you to all colleagues who have used our Park and Ride service to get to CRH – your support is really appreciated.
Once the MSCP is up and running, the Park and Ride service at Cedar Court and Eureka will no longer operate. A date will be confirmed closer to the time.
If you paused your permit to use the Park and Ride and would like to use the multi-storey, please re-activate your permit as outlined in the ‘colleagues who paused their permit’ section above.
Cross-site shuttle service
The cross-site shuttle between CRH and HRI will continue to run. You can find the current timetable on our CHFT website.
Once the car park opens, we may review the use of the shuttle service, though further information will be shared about this.
Alternatives to using the car park
There are still lots of other ways to get to CRH other than driving.
The new car park has a large cycle storage area which can securely store up to 50 bikes. It also offers colleagues and visitors free access to a bike maintenance area too.
Public transport remains a cost effective and convenient option to get to CRH, with major bus routes stopping within a short walk from the main CRH entrances. A list of buses can be found on our public transport intranet page.
In addition, you can still make use of our shuttle service which regularly runs between HRI and CRH. The most up-to-date timetables are on the CHFT website so you can access it on the go.
About the new MSCP at CRH
Once open, there will be around 800 parking spaces at CRH, including Blue Badge spaces, and electric vehicle charging points. The car park also has a large cycle storage area and bike maintenance area.
The car park will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (including bank holidays).
All patients, visitors and colleagues will be able to use the new car park. Colleague parking will be on the top three floors. The entrance and exit to CRH is from the ground floor, lifts are available.
