CHFT Charity is proud to launch the Lantern Trail, our new annual fundraising walk, taking place on Saturday, 10th October to mark the beginning of Baby Loss Awareness Week.
Building on the success of our Big Hospital Walk, the Lantern Trail offers a meaningful opportunity for colleagues, families, friends and members of the local community to come together in remembrance, raise awareness and show support for those affected by pregnancy and baby loss.
Participants will walk a dedicated 10km route from Huddersfield Royal Infirmary to Calderdale Royal Hospital, carrying lanterns as they travel. As dusk falls, the trail of light will create a powerful and moving tribute to babies gone too soon, while highlighting the lasting impact of pregnancy and baby loss on families across our communities.
The event is also raising funds for our Maternity Bereavement Appeal, which aims to raise £300,000 to create a dedicated Maternity Bereavement Suite at Calderdale Royal Hospital. The suite will provide families experiencing the loss of a baby with a private, compassionate environment and access to specialist support during one of the most difficult times imaginable.
Whether you've been personally affected by baby loss, would like to support someone, or simply want to help make a difference for local families, everyone is welcome to join.
