A heart-warming poem has been shared with the staff on Ward 17 as a gesture of thanks from former patient, Jason Willacy.

Our Ward 17 colleagues made a big impact during Jason's week-long stay on the ward: "All you need is a caring heart, a blessing to you all who worked so hard."

Jason came back to the ward to present his gift to colleagues in person (pictured). The heartfelt poem recites how he was able to return home after being looked after so well by the ward and how much that means to him: "You showed how caring could save my life, and return me home to my lovely wife."

Jason's poem has affected others to, with people commenting: "Wow just the perfect thank you. Brilliant" (Vicky Smith) and "beautiful words." (Jill South) Tissue Viability Nurse, Sarah Henighan also shared her thanks to the team: "Really heart-warming. Well done to all the staff on Ward 17."

A massive well done to you all - a great example of compassionate care.
