After a successful pilot back in February we are now live with eCDR-PRO (‘Electronic Controlled Drugs Register’) in 15 Wards or Clinical areas at HRI (including Pharmacy).

The team managing the project from Health Informatics wanted to give a big shout. Project Manager, Susan Lacey, said: "We wanted to give a huge thank you to all colleagues who have been embracing the move from paper to digital, at what are busy times for all concerned.

"We continue to train colleagues in readiness for their go-live dates and appreciate everyone’s assistance in making the time to allow that to happen.

"We've had some great feedback from areas that have already switched.

  • Ward Manager for Ward 5 – “Feedback so far has been really positive. Nursing staff have said that the system is easy to follow and the more they use it the easier it is. They have said specifically ordering is much easier as well and has saved on a lot of confusion”
  • Ward 18 – “It is easy to use and straight forward and we have saved lot of time on monthly cd checks.
  • ESU, Sister – “We have found the transition has run very smoothly.  The system is easy to use. We don't administer many CDs, but the daily stock check is much easier and less time consuming.
  • Ward Manager for Ward 12 - Staff seem to find the eCDR-PRO an advantage and not too difficult to use. Depending on how skilled staff are with computers, some find it easier than others, but overall, the response seems to be positive

We have received some useful comments from colleagues on how the system could be further improved and are working with the software company to incorporate these for future releases to make your experience of eCDR-PRO even better.
