During Green Week, CHS's Sustainability Team were asking for nominations for Green Heroes. After careful consideration, Procurement Assistant, Neve Mellor was selected for the Green Hero Award.

Neve was nominated by her colleague Procurement Assistant, Poppy Bray, for constantly going above and beyond to support sustainability within her role. Neve is also a valued member of the Green Planning Committee and her contributions to sustainability include assisting the Sustainability Team to identify progress our suppliers are making against national sustainability standards such as the Evergreen sustainable supplier assessment. Neve’s nomination also recognised how she inspires others to make a difference through her work to champion *social value and shows commitment to making CHFT a Greener organisation as part of the wider Contract Management Team.

When she found out she won the award, Neve said: “I’m so grateful to receive the Green Hero Award. I’ve really enjoyed supporting and working with so many people who are passionate about going green. Being part of the Green Committee has been so rewarding, especially seeing the positive changes the Trust is actively making.”

Our next Green Champions training session on Wednesday, 22nd July at CRH for anyone interested in learning more about sustainability at CHFT and what they can do to support the Green Plan within their own roles.

*Social Value is applied to all contracts awarded by the Trust and ensures what we purchase makes an overall positive impact to our local people and communities.
