It’s been a bumper weekend for our CHFT Charity, with two local events raising funds for brilliant causes.

On Saturday colleagues from our Early Pregnancy Loss Assessment Unit joined forces with the wonderful firefighters from Huddersfield Fire Station. After a full day of hard work washing cars, the teams raised an incredible £1,306.

The money will be shared equally between both charities, helping to support patients and families experiencing early pregnancy loss, as well as providing rehabilitation and recovery support for firefighters following injury.

And on Sunday, two colleagues took part in the annual 10K Lindley Run.

Family Support Assistant, Chantelle Tiplady, pictured right, who works in the Children’s Community Nursing Play Team, raised £90. A brilliant effort as Chantelle had an injury and wasn’t going to run, but she changed her mind at the last minute.

And Rehabilitation Assistant for Acute Inpatient Therapy, Neil Francis, pictured bottom right, raised an amazing £203 for the Maternity Bereavement Appeal. Neil said: "The creation of a comfortable, private home-from-home suite to be used by families who sadly experience pregnancy loss, stillbirth or neonatal death will be a hugely welcomed facility. A member of my extended family suffered a stillbirth, so I see the necessity of providing this facility."

Well done to everyone who took part over the weekend.
