Last week the Sexual Health Team shared a fond farewell to Sexual Health Manager, Gillian Bristow, who dedicated more than 35 years of service to CHFT, having worked here since 1991. She completed her nurse training at the Old Infirmary and General Hospital, where she spent six years working in gynaecology.

Following this, Gillian moved into Women's Sexual Health and has worked in sexual health services since 2003. She became Sexual Health Manager in 2007.

Sexual Health Nurse Specialist and Nurse Educator, Jill Tattersley, said: “Gillian has provided unwavering support to the service and has been an exceptional nurse and leader throughout her career.

“She has made a lasting difference to the lives of countless patients, colleagues, and communities. She has always shown outstanding compassion and commitment, particularly in her work with young people and vulnerable patients, who benefited from her care, understanding, and advocacy.

“Her dedication, professionalism, and leadership have left a remarkable legacy within the service. Gillian will be remembered not only for her clinical expertise but also for the kindness, support, and inspiration she has given to so many people along the way.”
