Our CHFT Charity Big Hospital Walk is back on Sunday, 5th July, and colleagues (along with family and friends - including four-legged ones!) are invited to get involved.

Starting at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and finishing at Calderdale Royal Hospital, the scenic 10km route will take you through some of our beautiful local countryside, including Lindley, Holywell Green, West Vale and Salterhebble.

You can choose to take part in the walk itself or volunteer behind the scenes as a marshal. Either way it is a fantastic opportunity to support your hospital charity while enjoying a brilliant community event.

How to take part in the Big Hospital Walk:

To sign up, visit the CHFT Charity website: Big Hospital Walk - CHFT Charity - by taking part, you will be helping CHFT Charity continue to support compassionate care and fund projects that enhance the patients experience during their hospital stay.

How to volunteer as an event marshal:

The team are also looking for volunteer marshals to help the event run safely and smoothly on the day.

Marshals will be stationed at points along the route to:

  • Direct and support walkers
  • Help keep participants safe
  • Act as a point of contact for any issues along the route

Marshal cover is needed from approximately 9.45am until 3.30pm. Depending on volunteer numbers, marshals may be asked to cover more than one point along the route.

Volunteers play a huge role in making the event possible, so the team would be incredibly grateful for your support.
