Our 2026 CHuFT Award nominations have now closed, and this year we’ve had a record-breaking 451 nominations from across the Trust. Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate.

Director of Workforce and Organisational Development, Jason Eddleston, said: “It’s fantastic that so many colleagues have spoken about the positive difference someone has made to them or to our patients. It shows how strong One Culture of Care is across CHFT, and it means our shortlisting panels face a tough task ahead choosing our finalists.”

Bariatric Coordinator, Sarah Richards (pictured bottom left), has been nominated in the One Culture of Care category. She said: "Being nominated for the One Culture of Care Award feels humbling, it inspires me to keep showing up with kindness not for recognition, but because every patient and colleague deserves to feel valued and cared for."

EPR Developer, Jason Parker (pictured top right), has been nominated in the Digital Champion category. Jason said: "I had to read the email a few times for it to sink in and I’m still baffled as to why I’ve been nominated. I honestly didn’t realise how grateful our colleagues are (I have yet to find out who nominated me) so I just want to say it’s always a pleasure to help you and if you need 'owt else, just shout, I’ll be here."

Surgical Consultant, Aaron Corp (pictured in the bottom right photo wearing blue scrubs), is nominated in the Must Dos category. He said: "I'm proud and delighted that my contribution to the deteriorating patient group has been recognised with a CHuFT Award nomination. Together, we'll keep improving patient care, and striving for excellence."

Specialist Lung Cancer Nurse, Maria Hill (pictured top left), has been nominated in the Compassionate Leader category. She said: "Being recognised as a compassionate leader is incredibly meaningful to me, as compassion has always been, and will continue to be, at the very heart of my career aspirations."

Waste Management Officer, Will Bennett (pictured top middle), has been nominated in the Excellence in Support Services category. He said: "I felt both proud and appreciated when I found out that I had been nominated. It's nice to know that the work and effort I put in is recognised and valued - there are a lot of staff who would equally deserve to be nominated. I have nominated someone but there isn't enough time in the day to recognise everyone who has a positive impact and make a difference day-to-day."

Colleagues from different roles and teams have volunteered to undertake a thorough shortlisting process. Then a panel of judges will select five finalists from each category, who will be invited to the awards evening on Thursday, 2nd July at The Arches, Dean Clough, Halifax.

A huge congratulations to everyone who was nominated, and to everyone who submitted a nomination. Look out for your finalists in The Week at the end of May.

This week's Golden Ticket winners have also been chosen. Congratulations to:

  • Midwife, Joanne Littlewood
  • Incident and Risk Coodinator, Jai (Jaimie) Szostak
  • Charge Nurse, Nigel Lockwood
  • ODP, Kerry Getliffe
  • Clinical Support Worker, Adam Moss

They will each be able to take a colleague along to the Awards. A weekly draw will take place until Tuesday, 26th May - good luck to all who enter!
