A final date for Conflict Resolution and Disengagement training has been scheduled for Monday, 1st June 2026 at the CRH Learning Centre. The course runs from 09:00 to 16:00.

The full day course helps participants to:

  • Identify possible causes of aggression and violence in hospital and community settings
  • Recognise the importance of early intervention and de-escalation strategies in reducing the occurrence of violence and aggression
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and patients in the management of potentially aggressive incidents
  • Develop an awareness of models and approaches in the management of aggression and violence
  • Develop verbal de-escalation scripts (possibly job role specific)
  • Understand the principles of reasonable force in relation to breakaway / disengaging from an aggressive patient
  • Demonstrate how to escape safely from a variety of grabs and holds

The courses run from 09:00 to 16:00. This training includes interactive role play, so please come in comfortable clothing with appropriate footwear. Please bring your own lunch or you can go to Ingleton Falls in the main hospital.
