Congratulations to Zoe Russell and Sophie Box who both completed the London Marathon yesterday.

Public Health Midwife, Zoe Russell (pictured left), finished in 5 hours, 36 minutes and 12 seconds, and raised £5,337 for our CHFT Charity Maternity Bereavement Appeal.

General Manager for Reconfiguration, Sophie Box (pictured right), who only took up running a few months ago, completed the marathon in 6 hours 33 minutes and 39 seconds. Sophie raised £2,510 for our Oncology Department and another £2,510 for Alzheimer’s Society. Showing real care for others, Sophie paused her London Marathon run to deliver urgent first aid to a fellow runner in distress.

Sophie said: "I took on two marathons in two weeks for two charities close to my heart. An amazing experience, but definitely a one time challenge for me. I am so grateful for the support from CHFT and proud to have raised a great amount for such important causes."

Congratulations also to Staff Nurse, Emma Byrnes. Emma works on the Acute Medical Unit at CRH and ran to raise money for Overgate.
