The Yorkshire Paediatric Society is being re-launched. The Yorkshire Paediatric Society (YPS) will host regular meetings with expert speakers, lively discussion, case presentations and networking.
YPS is open to all Paediatric Clinicians in the Yorkshire and Humber Region, including Resident Doctors and Advanced Clinical Practitioners.
Join an inaugural event in Leeds on Thursday, 30th April 2026, 1-5pm. This first event will feature speakers including Professor Steve Turner (President of the RCPCH), election of a YPS leadership team and will be followed by a self-funded dinner in Leeds for those who wish to join.
Dr Jonathan Darling (Leeds Children’s Hospital) has been involved in organising this inaugural event, said: "Regional Paediatric Societies make a difference. They help create a sense of paediatric community. They foster friendships and networks. They contribute to a sense of work satisfaction, achievement, and wellbeing. They help share best practice and research. They act as a welcoming 'way in' to our specialty. I’ve seen this for myself, and I know there is a place for such a society in Yorkshire. Our new-look YPS will map onto the Deanery boundaries and we look forward to welcoming colleagues from across the region."
