Colleagues in Microbiology recently came together to organise a 'fuddle' to celebrate Eid-al-Fitr.

The team have done a similar thing for Christmas, but it was proposed that having an Eid fuddle would be a nice thing to do for the team as well.

Traditional food and thoughtful decorations were particular highlights on the day, with a biryani being ordered from a local caterer and lots of traditional food being brought in by colleagues.

Specialist Biomedical Scientist, Kerry Mellor, said: "It was a team effort, initially organised by the Eid fuddle team, but as it got closer to the day, all microbiology staff members were actively participating."

Our Chaplaincy Team are holding a small Eid celebration in the CRH Chapel this Thursday, 16th April between 13:00 and 14:00. Colleagues from across the Trust are invited to join them to celebrate the occasion.

Eid marks the end of the blessed month of Ramadan and is a time of gratitude, reflection, and coming together with others in a spirit of joy and community.

There will be an opportunity to:

  • Enjoy some light refreshments
  • Learn a little about the significance of Eid
  • Spend time together in a relaxed and welcoming environment

This will be an open and inclusive celebration with food and cultural sweet treats. Everyone is welcome, regardless of faith or belief.

Would you like to contribute?

If any colleagues would like to support the event, whether by bringing food on the day, or contributing to the Charity Chaplaincy Fund, please contact the Chaplaincy team by email: chaplaincy@cht.nhs.uk
