On Easter Sunday, eight fantastic runners laced up their trainers to take on the first ever Halifax 10K in support of CHFT Charity. They all chose to raise funds for our charity which will be used to enhance patient care across our services.
Organised by Halifax Harriers, the first Halifax 10k was billed as one of the flattest and fastest routes in the region, with just 78 metres of elevation – putting it alongside some of the UK’s fastest races, including the Leeds Abbey Dash and the Dewsbury 10K.
Among those taking part were five of our own colleagues – Zoe Russell, Aisling Reid, Rob Philbin, Noor Bawarish and George Wild – proudly representing #TeamCHFT.
Together, our incredible runners have already raised over £900, with donations still coming in!
Adam Walker ran to raise funds specifically for the CRH Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and said: "I had a fantastic day running the 10k for CHFT, despite the weather. It was my first 10k run so technically got a PB of 46:24 which I was happy with. As it stands I have managed to raise £835!
"I would like to ask for this money to specifically go to the Calderdale NICU. It's a place close to my heart as my twin girls spent some time in there."
A huge well done and thank you to everyone who took part and supported our fantastic runners.
