Trainee Advanced Practitioner, Chloe Gough, has recently returned from a 10-day trip to Ghana where she worked clinically at the University Hospital of Kumasi.

The trip was supported by The University of Huddersfield and was an opportunity to knowledge share and discuss the benefits of having Advanced Practitioners within the workforce.

Chloe said: "This trip was the opportunity of a lifetime to gain clinical experience and learn lessons no textbook could possibly teach. The highlight was working in the hospital alongside highly skilled professionals with limited resources and diagnostic equipment.

"I've learnt that a thorough history and careful listening often leads to the diagnosis in the majority of cases. The diagnostic tests available to us are a valuable privilege - tools that should confirm our clinical judgement, not replace it."

"The people of Ghana are amongst the kindest humans I have ever met, it was an honour to be welcomed into their lives - if only for a short period of time."
