Congratulations to the BLOSM team who have won a West Yorkshire Adversity, Trauma and Resilience Award in the Public Health and Population category. The team were also shortlisted in the Innovation in Trauma Responsive Practice category.

Their award win for Public Health and Population highlighted how BLOSM use a trauma-informed approach within hospital to identify and support vulnerable patients, particularly those experiencing substance use and complex needs. It also demonstrated how the team strengthens partnerships with community services and helps reduce avoidable emergency department attendances.

Service Lead for BLOSM, Alistair Christie, said: "It was fantastic to celebrate this award with many of the BLOSM team who came along on the night. It is great to see the work of the team recognised in this way across two award categories, they do brilliant work in supporting some of our most vulnerable patients, always using a compassionate, trauma informed approach."

The award ceremony was held on Monday, 23th March at the Royal Armouries Leeds, marking five years of the West Yorkshire Adversity, Trauma and Resilience Programme. They celebrated the people and teams who are transforming systems, services and lives across our region. There were 12 award categories recognising the compassion, courage and creativity driving trauma-responsive change.
