It’s been six weeks since we launched our 2026 CHuFT Awards, and we’ve already had 136 nominations through our dedicated website.

It’s exciting times as this year we have a new category called Excellence in Support Services, so there are even more opportunities to nominate a colleague or team who has made a real difference to you, your colleagues or our patients.

This is the second year we’ve added a new category. Last year we added Compassionate Leader, and our Head Nurse for Community Division, Sarah Wilson, won the Award.

We asked Sarah what it meant to her to win. She told us: “Winning the compassionate leader meant the world to me as it gave me confirmation that I must be doing something right!! I always try and make time for everybody even when I’ve a big workload. It always feels like the right thing to be that go-to person. I keep my award proudly on my desk and winning was definitely a highlight for me last year.

“And on a personal level, I know my dad, who I lost two years ago, would have been super proud, and he is the guy that drives me every day.”

A reminder that colleagues who submit a nomination are automatically entered into a draw to win a Golden Ticket to the event on Thursday, 2nd July at The Arches in Dean Clough.
