The Old Library is a volunteer-run community library on Skircoat Green Road, within walking distance from the CRH.

The library is free to join and has a café with hot drinks and cakes baked daily by their volunteers.

Their opening times are:

  • Sun:      10:00 am - 4:00 pm      
  • Mon:     Closed (space for hire)
  • Tue:      10:00 am - 4:00 pm      
  • Wed:     10:00 am - 7:00 pm      
  • Thu:      10:00 am - 4:00 pm      
  • Fri:         Closed (space for hire)
  • Sat:       10:00 am - 4:00 pm

The library's website lists upcoming events and standing weekly groups, like knit and natter. 

The library is closed on Mondays and Fridays to allow hire of the space (£10 an hour - max capacity 70). They also offer the space for hire outside of core hours subject to availability but if small groups meet during our standard opening hours, then there is no charge.
