Thank you to everyone who completed the 2025 Staff Survey.

Our latest appraisal data shows an encouraging increase in colleagues who feel their appraisal helped them improve how they do their job. At the same time, fewer colleagues reported that their appraisal left them feeling their work is valued by the organisation.

An appraisal's purpose is to support an open and honest two-way conversation that recognises achievements, supports wellbeing and helps colleagues feel valued in their role.

To support line managers in holding meaningful and compassionate appraisal conversations, as appraisal season starts on Wednesday, 1st April, we are offering a series of Connect and Learn webinars.

These sessions focus on practical skills such as active listening, helping colleagues feel heard and empowering them to generate their own solutions. Sign up today to secure your place and make sure you have protected time to prepare for this year’s conversations.

Based off staff survey responses and feedback weʼve made some revisions to the appraisal paperwork and guidance, to be supportive and helpful for both managers and colleagues who are undertaking them. Find your guidance on our trust intranet and within the Appraisal section.
