Elections are scheduled to take place in England on Thursday, 7th May 2026. That means that we will soon be in a pre-election period which means specific restrictions are placed on the use of public resources and the communication activities of public bodies, civil servants, and local government officials. The pre-election period is designed to avoid the actions of public bodies distracting from or having influence on election campaigns.

In Kirklees, the pre-election period starts on Friday, 13th March.

In Calderdale, the pre-election period starts on Friday, 20th March.
