Following testing, this Sunday, 22nd February there will be an essential upgrade to the ICE system which means the system will be down from 08:00 to 20:30.

The upgrade will affect all ICE users. For any new requests required during this period, a handwritten paper form will need to be used. If you need to preprint emergency request forms, you will find them here:

For pathology requests:

We ask that you attach the emergency request form to the samples. These will then be manually booked into to LIMS. Please note, the usual completed pre-printed ICE requests forms are also acceptable during this period. We would like to assure you that the pathology lab is not expecting there to be any undue backlog caused by this work. Should any critical results require urgent notification, the lab will phone them through to the department who has made the request.

For radiology requests:

Patients being imaged during the upgrade will be pre-booked on to the Radiology Information system. They will not be affected by this work.

The upgrade will apply bug fixes and updates and will also support the upgrade of the Pathology Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), which is planned to start at the end of the year.

If you have any questions, please email Project Manager, Justin Holt, justin.holt@this.nhs.uk, or if you have any issues on Sunday, 22nd February then please call the THIS on call support via HRI Switchboard 01484 342000 or CRH Switchboard 01422 357171.
