Four of Calderdale Community Division Queen's Nurses recently attended the Queen's Nursing Institute (QNI) Regional Forum.
Head Nurse, Caroline Lane, said: “The event was a perfect opportunity to network with other community nurses especially sharing their experiences around recruitment and retention of community staff.
"Clinical Manager, Sally Akesson, is also leading a project for the Community Healthcare Division on the delegation of insulin and this gave her the opportunity to meet and share experiences from other community teams who have already implemented this.
It was held at Saltmarshe Hall, which is part of the National Garden Scheme. The National Garden Scheme has supported the QNI since 1927 and is the QNI's biggest funder. In 1926 at a meeting of the QNI's council, Ms Elsie Wagg came up with the idea to open private gardens to the public and charge admission, with the proceeds going to support District Nursing Services.
This affiliation continues, and as Queen's Nurses it is important to support to continue the legacy for Community Nursing services."
