Congratulations to FC Halifax Town, who were crowned Isuzu FA Trophy champions for the second time in seven years on Sunday, beating Gateshead 1-0 at Wembley Stadium.

And walking them out was CHS HR Business Partner, Debbie Grundy’s 11-year-old granddaughter Lily – who was selected to one of their mascots at the match.

Debbie said: “As a Halifax Town fan, meeting all the players and standing on the hallowed turf at Wembley was a once in a lifetime opportunity for her and one that she (and her proud dad Peter!) will never forget.

“Local people had to apply to be a mascot, and her dad sent a video of various photos of her in Town kit and meeting players or being at matches (watch it below).

“The icing on the cake was Town lifting the cup.”

Lily is pictured with goal scorer, Jamie Cook, she walked out with Harvey Gilmore, but her favourite player is the captain Jack senior who is Halifax born and bred!
