Our Radiology Team were featured on the BBC National News at 6pm and 10pm yesterday evening - as their work on using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to dramatically speed up lung cancer diagnoses was featured.

Consultant Radiologist, Nikhil Bhuskute and AI Project Lead, Imran Majid, were captured behind the camera, explaining more about the system and how it's improving the patient experience.

Imran said: "One of the big differences this has made is that previously it would take seven days to report on a chest x-ray for suspected lung cancer, but now, in some cases, we can return a diagnosis in seven seconds."

"If their chest X-ray is normal, their GP will immediately receive a report. It just makes that feedback with patients a lot quicker to show that everything is normal. If they have suspected lung cancer, this will be flagged within seven seconds and then that will be priority reported."
