The second phase of some planned drainage works start on Halifax Road on Saturday, 14th February and are expected to last until around Sunday, 22nd February. The works involve a deep excavation in the carriageway, extending up to three metres below road level.

The work is being carried out on behalf of Kirklees Council.

To undertake the works safely, a section of the northbound lane will be closed and will be under two-way traffic light control. Due to the deep excavation, it is not feasible to reopen the lane each day meaning the traffic management will remain in place throughout the works.
