Known throughout outpatients for her fantastic information displays, Healthcare Assistant Dawn Ellam has recently added another display to her repertoire.

After being asked to do a display on hydration by Outpatient Matron, Rachel Roberts, Dawn has risen to the challenge - creating a brand new patient information display on the importance of healthy hydration.

Her other displays have included menopause and dementia - with the dementia display being Dawn's personal favourite.

Dawn said: "I do all of the boards in the area, as I really love doing them. I usually start by researching the topic and then I use my imagination to come up with the design. I was very arty in school, and it's something I still enjoy now.

"Patients and visitors actually comment on them quite a lot! I once saw a man take a photograph of the menopause display, he explained that his wife was really struggling and that he wanted to show her the information as he thought it might help."

Outpatient Matron, Rachel Roberts, (pictured next to the board) said: "Dawn is a talented and creative colleague who supports us to health promotion boards on various health related subjects.

"Hydration is a really important part of managing our health and wellbeing). Dawn created a positivity board for January and we also have menopause and dementia boards. All are bright and colourful, really eye catching. So next time you visit Acre Mills, Floor 2 come and take a look at Dawn's health awareness  boards. My thanks to Dawn and the rest of the talented Outpatient Department Nursing Team Team."

Well done Dawn, for helping out patients in such a meaningful and creative way.
