Huge congratulations to CHS's Quality Performance and Service Officer, Sarah Flaherty, who is a finalist at the MyCleaning Awards in the Auditor of the Year category.

Sarah was nominated by Facilities Manager, Joanne Lambert, who wrote: "I am proud to nominate Sarah for Auditor of the Year. Her exceptional attention to detail, unwavering commitment to high standards, and deep understanding of National Healthcare Cleaning Standards has made her an indispensable asset to our service.

"She consistently demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and a proactive approach to ensuring cleanliness and compliance. She doesn’t just carry out our cleaning audits. She educates, supports, and elevates the entire team. Her audits are thorough yet fair, and the feedback she provides is always constructive, helping us maintain a safe, healthy, and welcoming healthcare environment for all our patients and visitors.

"This nomination is a recognition of all her effects, and the positive impact she makes across our facilities. She is a true champion of cleanliness and quality."

Sarah said: “A typical day for me involves carrying out early morning audits, usually within Theatres, OPDs, and Community areas, before moving on to inpatient wards.

“Having carried out this role for eight years - and earning the nickname “Beady Eye” - I have built strong, positive relationships across all departments. I am always willing to assist areas that are struggling, require additional support, or simply benefit from a second pair of eyes.

“I love my job role and knowing that I am contributing to the safety of our patients makes me very proud.”

We're wishing Sarah all the very best at the finals in Leeds on Monday, 2nd March.
