On Wednesday, 21st January, our Reconfiguration team got together for a session with our partners for the new clinical building at CRH to kick off the next phase of development.
Now we have completed RIBA 4, which is the technical design stage, we can move into the next stage of design where it will be refined further with specialist contractors. This is the final step before construction begins.
The session described how we move into the next stage of design and reviewed how we have been working with our construction partners Laing O’Rourke, architects, Arcadis, and technical partners, AECOM.
Clinical Lead, Dr Mark Davies, said: “One of the key aspects that came out of this session is the huge amount of progress we have made. It is a testament to the hard work and commitment of colleagues, and a strong working relationship with our design partners. It was great to see the energy in the room, and the desire to continually improve in order to further assure ourselves that we will create a facility that improves the quality of care we provide our patients, while also improving the working lives of colleagues.
“In the coming months, as we move towards beginning construction later in the year, we will be sharing lots of information with colleagues to help bring everyone on the journey towards our new hospital.”
