On Friday we will wave a fond farewell to Head of Therapies, Debbie Wolfe, as she retires after a whopping 39 years' service.

Director of Operations, Jenny Clark, said: "Debbie’s career journey has been remarkable. Beginning as a podiatrist and progressing into therapy management roles, she has contributed nearly four decades of expertise, commitment and professionalism to improving care for our patients and supporting colleagues across the organisation.

"Known for her kindness, compassion and constant support, Debbie has touched the lives of countless colleagues and patients. She has built strong, lasting relationships and offered guidance, reassurance and encouragement at every stage of her career. Many of us will have our own stories of how Debbie has brightened a day, helped navigate a challenge or simply brought a smile when it was needed most.

"Debbie’s passion for delivering high‑quality care has helped shape and strengthen the services she has been part of. She has played a key role in developing standards and ensuring that patient-centred care remained at the heart of everything she did. Her contribution to CHFT has been exceptional, and her influence will continue to be felt long after her retirement.

"Over the past four years, it has been a privilege to work closely with Debbie. She leads with integrity, compassion and genuine warmth — qualities that set an example for us all.

"As Debbie begins her well‑deserved retirement, we extend our heartfelt thanks for her 39 years of outstanding service. She leaves behind not just a career to be proud of, but a legacy built on kindness, dedication and care."

Debbie was presented with a This is Your Life red book prepared by Personal Assistant, Nic Clarke and Therapy Service Manager, Sally Grose. They included memories from Debbie’s colleagues from the past and present.

Debbie said: "My retirement gathering was a great day and so many people came. Those I’d worked with from years gone by and current colleagues. I’ll miss everyone. I’ve loved my time at CHFT and worked with such inspirational staff and managers all passionate about providing the best care we can for our patients, but we have all cared for each other and we look out for each other with the best medicine of all – laughter!

"I managed to hold it together for my party and celebration. I can’t guarantee that for my last day though!"

Enjoy your retirement Debbie - you'll be missed.
