Last week we welcomed ITV Yorkshire to CRH A&E who came to hear from our teams about what people can do to help during the current pressures in our hospitals.

They spoke to: ED Consultant, Andrew Lockey, Matron, Leanne Baziw, and Deputy Chief Executive, Jonny Hammond, about what it's like at CRH and HRI at the moment, the fantastic response from colleagues in responding to pressures, and where people can go for advice when their condition isn't life-threatening or an emergency, as well as our preparations for the recent industrial action.

Jonny said: "Our colleagues are doing a fantastic job in continuing to deliver care to our patients at this extremely busy time. In November this year we saw nearly 17,000 patients in both our A&E departments which is nearly 1,000 more than the same month last year. We know this impacts not only on emergency care, but wider departments, community services and our support services. Despite the pressures, we are continuing to meet our performance targets, and deliver for our patients, which really shows the commitment of colleagues across our teams in maintaining patient flow through the hospitals, as well as keeping the other services we provide going.

"Coverage like this will really help in getting the message out to our communities that they should only attend A&E if it is an emergency or life-threatening, and make them aware of the wide range of other services they can use. Thank you to the team at CRH A&E for taking the time to help with this filming."
